How to get the best from your internet searchesWhen you search with Google and put in some key words, Google will return any pages with any of the words. To narrow your searches down (and so save you time) you can use the Advance Search option. This is what you do: When you see the Google text bar, click on Advanced Search
You will then see a window like the one below (click on it to enlarge) Now you should see that if you want a whole phrase to be looked for like "Manchester United", there is a better way to do it. If you did not want anything to do with David Beckham you could put "Beckham" in the without text box. If you wanted to make sure you did get pages returned with David Beckham in them you would enter Beckham in the with at least text box. Try this web quest - how long does it take you to find the sites? |
